As both a blogging expert, and a trainee forensic linguist, I decided to skip selling my information in a premium priced ebook – I shunned creating a membership site, and thought, instead that I’d share everything on a blog that everyone could access. Alongside this, we thought we’d offer free consultations, linked from our site, on blogs that wanted guidance and support in creating a solid message using language.
(mini) Corpus Makeovers
Our corpus makeovers are simply designed to consult on areas of language that you may struggle with – give you tips on ways to create a better language set – or to view your language set in a different way. Though a true ‘corpus’ is a broad body of information and language, collected for evaluation in academic fields, I’m firmly of the belief that each writer has his or her own internal, mini corpus of identifiable texts, and that because we each write with a ‘unique’ voice, that we’ve each got our own mini corpus – and that it can be adjusted and supported to eliminate the elements that you don’t like.
We’ll pick five posts, and discuss the key messages underneath them – and give you a new angle, if you want one. Each report will discuss your strengths and your own ways of keeping track of your language and ideas.
